Children Services

The children's section in each branch and affiliate library is a stimulating and comfortable area for children. The collections include non-fiction and reference, fiction, audiobooks, and picture books. In addition to providing books and magazines for children, the library provides programs such as storytimes, puppet shows, and the summer reading program.

Storytimes
Storytimes consist of a variety of activities including read-aloud stories, fingerplays, special guests, songs, and puppets.

Children's Book Clubs
Select Macon libraries are now offering book clubs for children. Children will have the opportunity to discuss books in a welcoming environment with peers and librarians. A Young Adult book club is expected to begin in the near future.

Important Note for Parents: For the safety and well-being of young children, those children under 13 years of age must be accompanied and supervised by an adult (18 and older) when using the Library.
